5. Referral Links

Referral links are tracked URLs that attribute traffic and purchases to a specific affiliate. Each link contains a unique slug (e.g., /r/6pharbyoh) that the Leaper Dev tracking system uses to identify the referring affiliate.
5.1 Referral Links List View
The list shows all referral links with these columns:
- Affiliate — The affiliate the link belongs to (shown with initials avatar)
- Referral URL — The short tracked URL (e.g.,
https://leaper-dev.heldsway.com/r/6pharbyoh) - Destination — The actual page visitors are redirected to
- Campaign — Optional grouping label (e.g.,
summer-sale); shown as—if not set - Clicks — Total recorded click count for this link
- Status — Active or Inactive
- Created — Date the link was created
- Actions — Options for managing the link
A Copy referral URL button on each row lets you instantly copy the link to the clipboard.
Summary badges at the top display: Total Links, Active, Inactive, and Total Clicks across all links.
Use the Search box to find links by slug, URL, campaign name, or affiliate. Use the filter dropdown to narrow by affiliate.
5.2 Creating a Referral Link
- Click Create Referral in the top-right corner.
- Complete the form:
- Affiliate (required) — Select the affiliate this link belongs to. The dropdown shows each affiliate's name and referral code (e.g.,
Affiliator two (VYSGOQPD)). - Destination URL (required) — The page visitors will land on (e.g., a specific product page, landing page, or homepage).
- Referral Code / Customize — Leaper Dev auto-generates a unique slug. Click Customize to set your own memorable slug instead.
- Campaign (optional) — Add a tag such as
summer-saleorproduct-launchto group related links for filtering and reporting.
- Affiliate (required) — Select the affiliate this link belongs to. The dropdown shows each affiliate's name and referral code (e.g.,
- The Link Preview panel on the right displays the complete referral URL in real time as you fill in the form.
- A Recently Created panel below the preview shows the last few links for quick reference.
- Click Create Link to save. The link becomes immediately active.
Example scenario: A marketing manager is running a summer promotion. She creates two referral links — one per affiliate — both tagged with the campaign label
summer-sale. Later, she views the Link Performance report filtered to that campaign and compares each affiliate's click-to-conversion rate side by side.
5.3 Sharing a Referral Link
After creating a link, copy it using the Copy Link button on the creation page, or use the Copy referral URL button on the links list. Share the copied URL directly with the affiliate so they can use it in their promotions.
